Pete's Story
Peter Pryor worked as a residential home builder in Chicago. Pete built the firm from scratch. He created and renovated homes in Chicago and southwestern Michigan for 25 years. Along the way, He made time to run 10 Chicago Marathons. He also volunteered at Metro Help and the National Runaway hotline, assisting folks in trouble and referring them to the appropriate agencies for help. He returned to school in North Eastern IL. University earning a B.A. with a sharp focus on marketing. Which greatly aided him in his professional life. In 2016, He sold Pryor Construction to former employees who still run that successful firm. Pete has, in the last couple of years, found being a Mobile Notary not as far removed from his previous career as one might think. It is about service and tending to significant, sometimes essential matters, working with families to finalize their expectations for their life’s work. In 2015, Pete’s wife, Janice, died of lymphoma. Jan was also Pete’s business partner, which led to the sale of the company. At the time, Pete and Janice had to rush to prepare trust documents so that what their careers had built would be dealt with as they intended. It got done, but the rush to finalize the documents left Pete wanting to assist others in avoiding that painful and hectic situation. That less-than-desirable situation left Pete wishing to help others not experiencing similar issues.
